Out-Patient Treatment The question of outpatient treatment, the waiting entailed and suggested ways and means of impiovink the conditions now prevailing, formed the subject ol discussion between the ; Minister of Health, Mr. N’ordmeyer, and members ot the ’Dominion executive committee of the N.Z.R.'S.A: some time ago. , : . In a.' Press ,statement the associatibn -states that the acute shortage of staff (both skilled and unskiliM) at hospitals, and the lack of accommodation for the numbers of persons attending (civilian and servicemen), .were factors which it appreciated, as also was the fact that b-onie servicemen were obliged to lose payment of .wages for the time taken up in attending hospital for treatment. .... ~. • The reply of the •Minister, outlining the resuit of'his inquiries, was presented lo the Dominion executive committee this v eek. The. mutter had been taken up with the iprincipal hospitals,-and the Minister - stated : “Generally it seems that an endeavour is made to arrange foe returned soldiers to be attended either ut special clinics, or, if. they have returned to civil life, by half-hour limit appointments. On occasions there is' unavoidable waiting, but if the position is made known usually some special arrangemeut is made to meet the position in order that the man will not lose employment time.”
