Miss Allan is resigning because of ill-health and if oflicial approval of the resignation is given sue will retire at the end of the first term of 1043. Her term of office is the longest of any headmistress at the school. Miss Allan was born in Dunedin m ISSS ami received her education at tne Otago Girls’ High School. At the university she won a blue and captained the university hockey tenni. She took honours in English and French. After PyP' 1 teaching she joined the Rangiora High School staff. Her next moves were Jo the Wellington Girls’ College, Christchurch Technical College and the Hamilton High School.
