(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, November 4 . The central committee of the Cnnstclturch E.P.S. received today the reply of the Minister of Civil Defence, Mr. Wilson, to its representations lor the abandonment of the regional commissioner system. The committee (lid not regard the letter as satisfactory. Members complained that the Minister had missed the whole point of the complaints about interference under the regional system and strong exception . was taken to an inference in the Munster s letter that the method of control adopted m Christchurch was not in accord with the regulations or the intention of the Government. , . „ „ As the Minister suggested a confeience between him and the local bodies, 11 was decided to ask Mr. Wilson and Colonel Hunter to meet the central executive on which all the local bodies in the area are represented and the organizing executive to discuss thoroughly the many aspects of the system which Christchurch regains as inimical to efficiency.
