LIBERTY LOAN
Air Force Parade On - Friday ■ Arrangements have been made for an Air Force Day in Wellington ou Friday in connexion with tlie second Liberty Loan. Led By the R.N.Z.A.F. Band, a parade of Air Force men, W.A.A.F.s (with their drum and fife band), and members of the Air Training Corps, will move off from Waterloo Quay at 12.15 p.m. for a parade through the city. The route will l>e Bunny .Street, Lambton Quay, Willis, Mercer, Wakefield, Lower Cuba and Manners Streets to the end of Courtenay Place, which will be the dispersal point. An Air Force rally will be held at Liberty Corner at 1 p.m. An Army Day, consisting of a number of demonstrations in various parts of the city, will be held on Monday. Additional loan subscriptions include: Kodak (N.Z.) Ltd.. £5000; New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, £1000; J. L. Lennard Ltd., £500; J. Myers and Co., Ltd., £500; National Dairy Association of New Zealand, Ltd., £500; J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation, £5OO ; Wellington Investment Trustee and Agency Co., Ltd., £5OO. City Council’s £BO,OOO. An investment of £BO,OOO in tlie Liberty Loan was decided upon by the Wellington City Council yesterday on the motion of the mayor, Mr. Hislop. He said the city treasurer, Mr. Peterson, had reported that out of reserve and renewal funds and odd balances, the council could invest £BO,OOO for the 10-year term. Mr. Peterson said that the council had various sums, included in the £BO,OOO, coming due for reinvestment.
