EGMONT SHOW
The schedule for the fifty-ninth annual summer show of the Egmont A. and ”• Association, to be held in Hawera' on December 4 and 5 (Friday and Saturday) has just come to band from the secretary, Mr. 11. MCCay. A perusal of this indicates that there should be a really first-class showing of live stock, together with all usual summer show features, fully up to the high standard attained in’ the past at this event. Full classes are provided for Ilomneys, Southdowns and Dorset Horne sheep, for both working and other horses, for all breeds of dairy cattle and for the principal breeds of pigs. It is noted that the Railway Department hits helpfully co-operated in its train arrangements. The schedule advises that entries will close on November 20. I have heard that a number of outside breeders from as far distant as Wairitrapa and Hawke's Bay intend to exhibit, stud sheep here this year. These are from studs which have not ordinarily shown in Taranaki, but which now welcome the opportunity because of the absence of other leading shows. The same is likely to apply with other classes of stock, so Hawera has this year the prospect of attaining a higher standard than ever before.
