Householders Buy Flour (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 29. A denial that there was any foundation in persistent rumours that Hour was about to be rationed was made by Mr, It. McPherson, Dominion wheat and Hour controller, today. Mr. McPherson said the rumours were apparently widespread, as sales of household flour had now suddenly increased very considerably throughout the Dominion in the last two or three weeks. At the same time, he emphasized that unless householders took care over the storage of their Hour it might, depreciate in quality.
