The Allied forces in the Owen Stanley Ranges have again made a slight advance toward Alola village. They had been at a standstill for several days, when torrential rain had aided the stubborn Japanese resistance. Fighting continues near Alola. The spokesman at General MacArthur’s headquarters said the present position in the ranges could not be described as a deadlock, as the initiative was with our men.
