LICENSING ACT

Emergency Regulations Amended Au amendment to the Licensing Emergency Regulations was gazetted last night, making provision for licences to continue in force iu cases where a licensee might be unable to observe his obligations as a result of the Government taking over portion of his establishment or through some agency beyond his control.. For instance, he may be unable to provide meals or accommodation because of the occupancy of part of his premises for war purposes. The amendment also extends the powers iu the principal regulations to cover cases where the occupancy is for any Government purpose such as mental hospital purposes,, consequent on an earthquake rendering the hospital uninhabitable.
