ALLIES IN BORNEO

Japanese Claim Final Mopping Up

NEW YORK, October 16.

Tokio radio stated that the Japanese had captured a force of British, American, and Dutch troops north of Balik Bapan, in Borneo. They were supposed to be the remnant which escaped during the original Japanese occupation. The figures of the total force were not revealed, but it was stated that'the Dutch numbered 66. Tokio radio also said that the Emperor Hirohito worshipped at the innermost sanctuary, of the Yasukini shrine seeking “peaceful repose for 15,021 newly deified war heroes.”
