EARTHQUAKE RELIEF
.Grants by the Hastings Borough Council toward alleviating acute distress caused by the earthquakes in the southern part of the North Island in June and August are validated by a clause in the Local Legislation Bill, which was introduced in the House. The Bill was read a second time pro forma and referred to the Local Bills Committee.
Moneys raised by the Wellington City Council for repairing storm damage in accordance with the terms of the Wellington City Works Loan, 10-11, may be expended on repairing damage occasioned by this year’s earthquakes.
