WORK OF PARLIAMENT
Future Of Administration SESSION RESUMES TODAY
AVitli members assembling for the resumption of the Parliamentary session today there is a quickening of interest in the recent political controversy over the handling of the AVaikato coal miners’ strike and culminating in the resignation of the National Party Ministers from the AVar Administration. In the lobbies there is an air of expectancy, and a degree of speculation similar to that obtaining on the eve of the session about four months ago when the coalition of the two parties in a wartime administration was agreed upon.
There is general agreement that the sequel to this breach of political relationship will most probably be written in tlie House of Representatives in the coming days. It is pointed out that the formation of the AVar Administration was to a large extent the basis of the Prolongation of Parliament Act which extends tlie life of the present Parliament. Some observers incline to the belief that the position thus reverts to that preceding, the setting up of the AVar Administration. They contend there is an onus on the Government, morally if not legislatively, to declare for a general election or to complete the constitution of the Administration. .
No indication has been given as to the action the Opposition may take to have the issues ventilated in the House. That they will be raised is very definite.
