Driver Fined Following Motor Collision

A collision between a ynotor-ear and a laundry van at the intersection of Daniell and Constable Streets, Wellington, on tihe morning of September 26, as a result of which two Roman Catholic priests, Dr. Geaney and: Fr. Joseph Kelly, were taken to hospital, resulted in the drivers of both vehicles appearing in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday, on charges of offences against the driving regulations. Colin Grant Dickey,, the driver of the van, for whom Mr. Macandrew appeared, was charged with dangerous driving, and the driver of the private edr, Jn which the two priests were passengers, Frank Minks (Mr. E. S. Parry) was charged with failing to give way to traffic approaching from the right.

After evidence had been given by an eye-witness, a police constable, and the drivers themselves, Mr. 'Stout disrjilssed the charge against Dickey and convicted and fined Minks £2 and costs.
