MOUNTING OFFENSIVE

Soviet Call To R.A.F.

LONDON, September 6. The Russian Ambassador, M. Maisky, in a speech announced that Russian losses on the front averaged between 6000 and 7000 men a day. He said tifcit the Russians needed medical supplies of every kind in great quantities. He paid a tribute to the mounting offensive by the Royal Air Force against Germany, and said: “We hope that you will use this weapon with the greatest possible force. Bomb Germany by day and night in the west, east, north and south.

“Soviet airmen, traversing tremendous distances in most difficult weather, are bombing Berlin and Budapest. I hope British and Soviet airmen will meet in the air over Germany, fighting in the common battle against the common enemy.”
