U.S. TROOPS FETED IN LONDON

March To Guildhall (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, -September 2. Two hundred officers and men of the United States Army and 20 marines marched through the West End of London to the City this afternoon fo lunch at the Guildhall as guests of the City of London. The army detachments, marching in squads of 50, were drawn from all arms of the service, and huge crowds lining the route gave them a tremendous cheer. The famous gold plate was used for the first time since the luncheon to the officers and men of the Ajax and Achilles on their return from the River Plate victory. Among the guests were the DeputyPrime Minister, Mr. Attlee, the American Ambassador, Mr. Winant, Mr. Eden, Mr. Alexander, other Cabinet Ministers, and Field-Marshal Sir John Dill.
