Many Guests at Miramar Club. A large number of men of the lorcefl were the guests of the .Miramar Lighting Services Club on Sunday. The artists who assisted with the entertainment this week were Helen McLeod. dancing; Mrs. Hewson and Master Francis Johnson, vocal solos; and Mt. I’. Finueniie. humorous recitation. Thanks are extended to the Miramar League of Mothers, who supplied the afternoon lea aud supper, and to Miss Gloria Climo and Bte. Stuarl bffinsou. who played for the dancing.

The Strathmore Park sub-ceniu >1 the Red Cross Society held a social recently at the Scots College gymnasium, the occasion lining the presentation, or certificates for first-aid. The btrathmore play rentiers staged Isohel Andrews play, “The Goldfish," and Miss whitelaw, from the Wellington centre, who presented the certificates, gave an interesting talk on the aims ami objects ol tne Red Cross Society, ami congratulated the class on ils high percentage of honours.
