Farcical Accusation

NEW YORK, August 31.

. The Washington correspondent of the jiew.-rpa;.-. r “P.M.” says that tho list of snAvc.-sive Government employees complied by the Dies Committee on Unamerican Activities has turned out to be a fake.

A year ago the committee sent complaints to the Justice Department against 1121 Government officials.. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, after a year’s investigation, costing 190,000 dollars, found evidence resulting in only two resignations. Six others resigned voluntarily, leaving 1119 unsubstantiated charges.

“P.M.” comments: “Congressman Dkv's wild goose chase has kept a considerable .part, of' the F. 8.1. staff thus occupied when it should have been running down Axis spies and saboteurs.” ... ■
