NEGRO ENGINEERS IN NEW CALEDONIA
(Received August 28, 7 p.m.) ■WASHINGTON, August 27.
The Secretary for War, Mr. Stimson, at. a Press conference praised the exceptionally meritorious work of an American negro aviation engineers battalion, which worked 2-1 hours a day and completed an aerodrome in New Caledonia which was of material assistance in the Coral Sea battle.
