HOTEL PORTER’S THEFTS
Charles John Massie, an hotel'.porter, aged 21, appeared before Mr. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday, charged with the theft of 15/-, the property of Eileeu Smith, on August IS. He was also charged with the theft, on August 17, of £5. the property of Ernest Gordon Prince, and the theft, on August 14, of one silver teapot, oue silver sugar-basin, pile salt-pot, and one pep-per-pot, of a total value of £3/2/-, the property of Albert Fry Falconer. Accused, who pleaded guilty to all three charges, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment.
