Vice-Regal. Government House, Wellington, August 6. This afternoon, in St. Francis Hall, his Excellency the Governor-General, who was accompanied by her Excellency Lady Newall, presented a Union Jack on behalf of the Navy League to the Thorndou Marist Brothers’ School. Major C. J. Holland-Martin was in attendance. Ministerial. The Hon. D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Supply and Munitions, left Wellington yesterday for Christchurch. Dr. W. Schmid, Vice-Consul for Switzerland, returned to Wellington from Auckland yesterday. Mr. B. S. Knox, town clerk of Lower Hutt, has been appointed secretary to the Lower Hutt District Fire Board. Mr. AV. E. Scolt, Taranaki, has been appointed Government member on the New Zealand Dairy Board. Colonel C. V. Cioehetto, M.C., M.M., regional commissioner of the E.P.S., has returned to Wellington from Hawke’s Bay. Mr. E. A. Cameron, chairman of the Southland Council of Primary Production, has been appointed provincial representative on the National Council.
