TABLE POTATOES
Sale To Food Controller The sale or delivery of table potatoes by a grower other than to the Food Controller or bis agent, has beeu prohibited as from Saturday. In addition, no wholesaler or distributor other tbau a retailer may sell or deliver table potatoes other than in accordance with instructions from the Food Controller or his agent. This provision also covers the shipment of potatoes from one port to another. Tn the meantime, the New Zealand Grain, Seed, and Produce Merchants’ Federation has been appointed as the agent, of the Food Controller to supervise the supply and distribution of table potatoes under his direction as a means of ensuring that the requirements of the armed forces are provided for, and at the'same time arrange for supplies to hospitals and other similar services. The Minister of Supply and Munitions. Mr. Sullivan, sanl that growers should immediately notify their merchants on or before August 8 of tile tonnage of potatoes held by them, table and seed, stating tlie quantity of each and tile variety.
