BURMA AIR BASE SMASHED
NEW DELHI, August 2. Americans bombers, in spite of tlie monsoons, have put out of action Myitkyina aerodrome in North Burma. The ’Japanese recently moved up heavier ground defences to protect Myitkyina, because it is the base from which’they have sallied out to interfere with (lie Ferry Command carrying war materials to China.
