BUENOS AIRES. August 3. The Argentine Foreign Office yesterday declared Waldo Frank, noted United States author now lecturing in Argentina persona non grata. This virtual expulsion order followed the publication in the newspaper “Critiea,” of a statement where Frank criticized Argentina's ollicial attitude regarding the war. He accused Argentina of spiritual demoralization. Six political bandits today forced Mr. Frank’s apartment and fled after beating him. inflicting several wounds to hi« bead. Mr. Frank before the assault had received anonymous telephone calls all night asking “Is that Jew still here?” indicating that the assault was originated by Nazis.
