WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Coach-Managers Appointed

After three wet weekends, the beautiful weather on Saturday came as a pleasant change to players in the Wellington Basketball Association’s competitions. All games were played, and the first representative trials were held: The following coach-managers of representative teams have been chosen Senior A, Mrs. A. D. Muir; senior B, Mrs. G. Calder; third grade. Miss P. McGoldrick, fourth, Mrs. W. Barker. All the senior A teams seemed to find accurate goal-throwing difficult, probably because of the long break. The leehnicalAspro game was scrappy throughout ana Technical were fortunate in winning by a narrow margin. Island Bay were definitely a better team than Rio .Ora, who did not settle down to a good combination till the second spell.
