Land Girls In Demand With more men being absorbed into the forces-and furni'production, still to main tai ned,. niaii.V landowners in the, Hawke's' Bay district have adopted the Fuglislt policy of employing land girls to overcome the shortage of bands. So far, the Hustings Women's War Service Auxiliary- has been able to till I's of these vacancies. A number of the girls thus placed had formerly been employed in Wellington oilices and have taken keen interest in their new tasks; (•tilers were country girls to whom farm liie 5V6s no novelty. The need for. more girls with an aptitude for outdoor work is still urgent, and the Hastings W W'.S.A. would welcome applications from women and girls wish-' ing to enlist.
