Tlie House of Commons rejected by 130 votes to 31 an Opposition amendment calling for complete reorganization of the Department of National Defence, thus ending a two-day debate on the Royal Commission’s findings on the Hong Kong expedition, in which 2000 Canadian t'oops were killed or taken prisoner. The House upheld the Government's contention that the expedition was handled as well as possible in the short time at. the disposal of the military authorities for the organization and equipment of thg expedition.
