DECORATED IN BODY
Crew Of Submarine Torbay (British Official Wireless.l (Received July 30, 7 pan.') BUGBY, July 29. “We shall never forget the great honour Ills Majesty paid us in decorating us all in one hotly,” said Commander A. c. C. Miers, who.ni the King decorated with the V.C. yesterday for daring exploits in the submarine Torbay. ■Commander Miers paid a tribute to his officers and crew, and said that not one among them but felt that the successes of our submarines in the Mediterranean were mainly because of their good fortune in being under the command of one of the greatest naval leaders in history, Admiral Cunningham. The Torbay’s crew, added Commander Miers, had had a fairly eventful time, but the men never failed to amaze him. For instance, with the greatest zest they kept a score of depth charges dropped against them. Twice they had had the pleasure of taking commanding officers of American submarines on patrol, to the mutual profit of all concerned.
