Eastern Railway CHUNGKING, July 28. The Chinese military spokesman declared that Chinese troops, advancing west in Kiangsi, succeeded in widening .the gap they have forced along the NanchangHangchow railway to 5” miles. The Chinese High Command announced that the Japanese were routed in heavy fighting near Kiangshan, close to the kiangsi border. In Honan the Chinese hurled back several enemy attacks near Sinyang and inflicted heavy losses on the Japanese.
