DEATH FROM WOUNDS Major Philip B. Levy Major I’hilip B. Levy, _ whose death from wounds is recorded in the casualty lists published today, was well known in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch, in each of which he had filled prominent advertising positions. He was at different times advertising manager for the Goldberg Agency in Auckland, advertising manager for National Magazines Ltd. in Wellington, and director and manager in Christchurch for Carlton Carruthers Ltd., holding the latter position when he joined the military forces soon after the outbreak of war. Major Levy had always shown keeu interest in military matters and held a commission as lieutenant in the Territorial Forces before the war. He went overseas with the third echelon as a captain aud was promoted major after the campaign in Greece. He was also well known in the sporting world, having been an active swimmer, runner and footballer. He played football for a time with the Eastbourne club in Wellington, and after going to Christchurch swam with the Taylor's Mistake Surf Club. He was educated nt Wellington College. Major Levy leaves a widow and two small daughters.
