Anglesey, Wales, where he remained till ids appointment to Chalmers Church. Tiinai'ii. He was in Tinmru till 1033. lie Hum returned to Hie Old Country to take temporary charge of St. Andrew's Church, Mouksemmi. Newcaslle-on-'l'yne. Im! the following year saw liim accept Hie charge of St. Andrew’s Church, Auckland. where lie lias ministered up till now.

While in Timaru. Air. Hughes was an associate member of the Children’s Court, and during live depression he established the Timaru Boys’ Welfare League. He is a Dominion vicepresident of the Ix'ague of Nations Union, ami has been a lecturer for Hie W.E.A.
