FAMOUS ENGLISH PRIEST
Note From Denmark News of the Rev. Father C. C. Martindale, S.J.. M.A.. the famous English priest, author, and lecturer, who was in Denmark when Britain declared war on Germany, is given in the "New Zealand Tablet.” First word of Father Martindale, it is stated, has come in a brief message lo a friend in London. The note was delivered through the Red Cross and was limited to 25 words. Father Martindale wrote on June 9 and the message took nearly three months in transit. He stated that be was then going into hospital for a few days. Father Martindale visited New Zealand in J92S and again in 1934. and as recently as January of this vear be wrote a highly interesting letter to bis Grace Archbishop O'Shea regarding the National Eucharistic Congress, then only a tew weeks oil. hi which lie expressed his great admiration for New Zealand and its people.
