Car Struck By Train TWO MEN KILLED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) TIMARU, November .15. One man was killed and another later died of injuries when a car was struck by a. north-bound express at Temuka late this afternoon. The car was proceeding over Denmark Street crossing near the station when the .express caught it broadside on and carried it a distance of 200 yards on to the station. the men still being in the seats. The driver of the ear, John William Campbell, aged 50, married, residing at Orakipao, suffered severe injuries and died shortly after admission to Timaru Hospital.
A passenger in the car, Steven Cebalo, middle-aged, married, residing at Temuka, was dead when taken from the car. which was impaled on the front of the engine, the back wheels being lifted sufficiently high to clear the station platform. It is surmised that, the noise of the old ear drowned the warning bells, which were ringing at the crossing.
