Mr. Chamberlain’s Ashes

LONDON. November 14

The ashes of Mr. Chamberlain were buried in Westminster Abbey beside those of Mr. Bonar Law. While people were arriving to witness the lodgement of the ashes the air-raid sirens sounded the all clear. The Duke of Gloucester represented the King. Mr. Churchill. Lord Halifax. Captain Fitzroy., Sir John Simon. Sir Kingsley Wood, Mv. C. R. Attlee. Lord Stanhope, Sir Archibald Sinclair. Captain Margesson, and a cousin, Mr. Arthur Chamberlain, were among tlie mourners who followed Mrs. Chamberlain and the family mourners in tlie funeral procession. The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Denn of Westminster conducted the service.
