New Principal Appointed (By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, November 14. Miss Muriel W. May, M.A., Diploma of Education, head of the department of languages at Otago Girls’ High School, was today, appointed principal of Southland Girls’ High School in succession to Miss A. Eastwood, who will retire at the eud of this year. Fifteen applications were received for the position, and the Southland High School’s Board made the appointment after a personal interview with Miss May today. Miss May has had a distinguished career and has taken a prominent part in educational and public affairs in Dunedin.
