No Acquisition By U.S.A.

WASHINGTON. November 13.

The Assistant Secretary of State. Mr. Sumner Welles, states that the United States has not acquired and does not intend to acquire military bases from any Latin American republic, but he indicated that the United States might accept invitations to share the use of bases built by those nations themselves. Mr. Welles also said that he was not aware of any reason why the Berlin conversations should affect his current talks witli the Soviet Ambassador. M. Onmansky.
