LONDON, Noveinber 12.
The Colonial Secretary, Lord Lloyd, in a broadcast, said : "Britain is storing vast quantities of certain commodities against the lime when, after victory, we have a half-starving Europe on our hands."
Surveying Ihe work ol the Colonial Office. he said that when (tie Ministry of Aircraft. Production wanted increased supplies of aluminium, the colonies were aide to help by getting the necessary bauxite ore. Other achievements of the colonies included a supply of a special type of cotton, from which women's underwear was formerly made and which is now used for barrage balloons. They also supplied coconut shell, which is used for charcoal
