The King’s Birthday
Sir, — 1 see some of our Chamber of Commerce chaps are making a noise over the King’s Birthday. It's all right fur these lads, who can clear off to golf or bowls when they like, to hold forth; but. most of us—who work Saturday mornings at any rate —lookforward to these odd holidays. Where war production would benefit : we should all work all day every Saturday. On pay, of course, because we would be keeping up the dividends for our owners. AVithout pay, if the Government took all “the proceeds.” I Sez you! They get most of it already).—l am. etc., OLD BLOKE. November 13.
