FIRE IN EMPTY HOUSE
An empty four-roomed wooden house in Houghton Bay Road, believed, to be owned by Airs. A. Merrie, Kent ’lefriice, was damaged by lire last night. '1 lie fire had a good hold when the brigade received a call at 8.45 p.m. 1 Two engines from the South AVellington station put the tlmnes out with the motor pumps. Children had been seen playing in the house earlier in the day mid the lire, which damaged the interior of the house mid portion of the root, is thought have been the result of vandalism.
