LONDONERS’ LEAGUE
Wellington Branch The inembers of the Londoners’ League in AVellington have had the privilege recently of enjoying addresses by Miss Nelle Scanlan and Mr. Alan Mulgan. At' the meeting on All Souls’ Day, the ‘•London Light” was dedicated and lit. This service took place in the little chapel of the AVellington City Mission, and was conducted by the _ Rev. 11. Squires, assisted by Air. Armitage. Kipling’s “Recessional'’ was sung, and a short address deeply impressed the congregation, which filled the chapel. The “London Light” will be kept burning in this chapel by kind permission of the chaplain. Another feature of the meeting last, week was the display of 33 articles ot <-lotliiug made by the Threadneeille Street group, who are working on oddments of clothing from which emerge boys’ pants, blazers and shirts, aud knitted articles, including little dresses and sets for babies. A small child s smocked frock, beautifully worked, with a note sewn on by the maker, is included in this wonderful effort from a group who were strangers to one another less than two months ago. Pillowslips of excellent quality and two lengths of silk were also presented for the benefit of Londoners at Home. In the near future the Lyon's Corner House' group mid the Albert Hall group will be doing their share in the work. A play-reading group is rehearsing some one-act plays. . . All Londoners are welcome to join the league.
