OBITUARY
Sir Terence O’Connor (British Official Wifeless.) RUGBY, May 8. The death is announced of Sir Terence O’Connor, the Solicitor-General. Sir Terence, who was 49 years old, has been the Conservative member for Central Nottingham since 1930, and Solicitor-General since 1930, when he Was knighted. Before the debate in the House of Commons opened today Mr. Chamberlain expressed the grief which would be felt at the news of Sir Terence O’Connor’s death by the House, in all parts of which Sir Terence had many friends. Mr. Chamberlain also referred to the death of Mr. George Lansbury, which, he said, would be sincerely regretted on all sides, for there was no member who was more widely respected or who had won more universal affection. The late Sir Terence O’Connor had been the Conservative member for Central Nottingham eince 1930 and SolicitorGeneral since 1936, when he was knighted He served in Europe in the last war. and also with the West African Frontier Force.
