NEW SOVIET DEFENCE COMMISSAR

World Guessing At Reason MOSCOW, May 8. While the world was guessing at the reason for his disposal, the former Defence Commissar, Marshal Voroshilov, attended the Bolshoi Opera House together with M. Stalin, M. Molotov, and Marshal Timoshenko, his successor. The newspapers report the change casually, the “Pravda” devoting its front page to an announcement that three officers, including Timoshenko, have been promoted to the rank of marshal, and also that officers of the pre-revolution army and navy are being re-employed.
