BOMBING OF RED CROSS SHIPS
Strong Representations To Germany Sought LONDON, May 8. Speaking in the House of Commons, the Foreign Under-Secretary, Mr. R. A. Butler, said that the Norwegian Government asked the International Red Cross organization to make strong representations to Germany to respect the Red Cross on Norwegian ships. He added that the Germans had bombed Norwegian hospital ships three times, causing serious loss of life among doctors and nurses. A British hospital ship had been bombed unsuccessfully.
