Inadequate Food By Parachute SNOWSTORM RAGING Norwegian Guerrillas In The South (By Telegraph.—l’ress Assn.—Copyright.) (Received May 9, 7.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 9. The Swedish radio reports that a snowstorm is raging at Narvik, making operations difficult. The Norwegian’ High Command emphasizes that guerrilla fighting continues in the Roros sector in southern Norway, and the Germans have suffered heavily. The German forces at Narvik are reported to be in danger of starvation, due to an insufficiency of supplies dropped by parathute. LONDON, May 8. A Stockholm message states -that the Germans are reported to have mined Narvik Fiord. Norwegian military authorities say that German troops landed by parachute about 30 miles north-east of the main S-tordal Valley, but that the Norwegians! hold the rugged mountain ranges which separate the valley from Narvik. The Benl'in correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain says it is not believed that the German garrison at Narvik has been reinforced since the arrival of the first troops. A Polish communique issued in Paris says that Poles are fighting in Norway. A communique issued l by the German High Command states that German aeroplanes struck two British cruisers with bombs off Narvik, and bombed Allied positions) and marching troops. One British plane was shot down east of Narvik.
