BERLIN ADMITS PRESSURE
Allies At Narvik GERMAN CASUALTIES IN NORWAY Estimate Of Thousands (By Telegraph.—Press Assu. —Copyright.) LONDON, May 7. The German official news agency admits that there is increased AngloFrench pressure at Narvik. It claims that German troops, which are proceeding north for the relief of the Narvik garrison, reached Mosjoen, 60 miles south of Mo. The Norwegian headquarters deny this, declaring that no German soldier has crossed the border between north Trondelag and the Nordland provinces. Swedish messages maintain that the Norwegians are stoutly re-
sisting the German forces north of Trondheim. The majority of a German battalion arc reported to have been wiped out in a narrow pass north of Roros. Another report says that several thousand Germans have been killed in Norway and that many wounded are reaching Oslo, where mass graves have been dug in cemeteries. It is believed that there are no German naval vessels at Narvik. According to the German wireless seven large and 10 smaller Norwegian warships have been requisitioned to guard the coast.
