WAR AMPUTEES
Progress Of Association The last year Lad seen a marked progress in the affairs of the association, and .the problems of the war amputee had been dealt with from all angles, said the chairman of tbo Wellington Returned Soldiers’ Limbless 3len’s Association, Mr. F. 0. Allerby, at the annual meeting recently. The membership roll had reached 194, he said. One or two employment cases Did come up for consideration, and these were suitably dealt with by the U.S.A, and Soldiers’ Civil lie-establishment League. There were few cases of want, and with the co-operation of the R.S.A. material assistance was granted. Contact had been made with amputees who were sick in hospital by 3lr. S. 31. Hayes, of the committee, and the R.S.A. visitor.
The chairman expressed appreciation of the support that had been given the association by the R.S.A. and N.Z.R.S.A. to the various sporting bodies for continued privileges, and the Press and broadcasting authorities for publicity.
The name of the association was changed to Wellington War Amputees Association, and the rules altered accordingly. The election of officers resulted as follows: Chairman, 3lr. F. C. Allerby (re-elected) ; secretarytreasurer, 3lr. K. S. Henry (reelected) ; committee, Jlessrs. C. E. Fairbrother, 11. G. Garratt, J. Southward and J. G. Tandy; lion, auditor, 3lr. A. T. Duncan (re-elected), 3lr. K. S. Henry was unanimously nominated as a candidate to the U.S.A, executive. Messrs, S. 31. Hayes and C. Lander did not seek re-election to the committee, I
