WATERSIDE WORKERS

Levy For Newspaper Must Be Paid A largely-attended stop-work meeting of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Union yesterday morning discussed the position of members who had been struck off the register because of their non-payment of the levy of £1 to the Labour daily newspaper fund. The meeting lasted from 8 a.m. till 10.30 a.in., and an executive recommendation that the men be readmitted to membership provided that they paid the £1 levy on or before 3lay 18, and that they should not regain their position till they did so, was adopted.
