Mr. H. F. O’Leary, K.C., has returned to Wellington from Gisborne. Professor F. W. G. White, Christchurch, arrived at Wellington yesterday. Mr. F. Milner, M.A., Oamaru, was among the guests at the weekly luncheon of the Wellington Rotary Club yesterday. The Primate of New Zealand, the Most Rev. C. West-Watson, has re turned to Christchurch after his visit to Wellington, Sub-Inspector E. T. C. Turner, who has been stationed in Wellington since the Exhibition opened, left last night on transfer to Christchurch. Sub-In-spector D. J. O’Neill, who has been in charge of the Police Station at the Exhibition, has resumed duty at the Wellington Central Station. Mr. E. Partridge, M.A., who has been a member of the Wellington Edu cation Board inspectorate for the past eight years, was last week farewelled by the Hutt District Headmasters’ Association, on the occasion of bis promotion to the position of senior inspector for the Southland Education Board. Mr. F. G. Thompson made a presentation, and referred to the high esteem in which Mr. Partridge had been held by all the teachers of the district and. while conveying regret at bis departure, wished him every success. Major J. N. Peart, headmaster, King's College, Auckland, Captain K. W. R. Glasgow, headmaster, Scots College, Wellington, and Mr. R. G. C. McNabb, headmaster, John McGlashan College, Dunedin, have enlisted for military service, according to a report presented to Hie annual meeting in Wellington yesterday of tbe Association of Heads of Registered Secondary Schools in New Zealand. Major Peart and Captain Glasgow are already overseas, and Mr. McNabb will go into camp shortly. Mr. H. 15. Lusk is act-ing-headmaster of King's College, and Mr. V. F. Francis is-acting-headmaster of Scots College.
