SOCIAL EVENING

Golfers Gather At Home Of

President

A very successful social evening was held on'Monday at the home of Mrs. Dodson and Mr. 11. D. Dodson, president of the Rangimarie Golf Club. Nearly 100 members of the club and their friends were present.. The gathering was organized by the members of the house committee and the ladies’ committee after Mrs. Dodson had offered her home for the purpose. The guests were welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Dodson. The dancing room was very popular throughout the evening. Table tennis enthusiasts had some exciting games, and in the card room the bridge tables were well filled. At the conclusion. Mr. C. F. Pirie, vice-president, and Mr. S. b'. Duncan, secretary, thanked Mr. and Mrs. Dodson for their hospitality and their generous action in offering t' house for the evening, as a result of which a substantial amount had been raised for improvements to the clubhouse In replying Mr. Dodson paid a tribute to the wonderful social spirit that prevailed at Rangimarie. . He stated that members should rejoice in the fact that theirs was a club where not only was golf played, but good fellowship counted more than anything. - ,

Mrs G W. Guthrie presided at a meeting of the Mothers’ Helpers held on Monday. Those present were Mesdames Bayfeild, H. Hall, H. 11. Turner, 11. Barnes, and D. A. S. Ward. The secretary reported that she found it difficult to meet the many demands for the helpers’ services, and would welcome applications from girls of high standing for positions on the statt. Donations were received from Mrs. D. E Richardson, Mrs. Gibson Stott, Miss S.’ Nathan, and an anonymous gift of five guineas.
