£5 FINE FOR CONVERSION OF CAR

A line of £5 was imposed on Douglas John Stuart Henderson, seaman, when he appeared before Mr. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday, charged with unlawful conversion ol a motor-car valued at £250, the property of Townsend and Paul Ltd. Sub-Inspector L. R. Capp, who prosecuted, said Henderson was arrested by a constable who had seen him getting into cars in Lambton Quay. Another man who was with Henderson made off. Henderson was a member of the crew of an overseas ship now in port.
