CHAMPIONSHIPS TO BE HELD ON JUNE
Manawatu Association ASHHURST, May 6. The auuual meeting of the Manawatu Rifle Association decided to hold the championship meeting on the Ashhurst range on Saturday, June 1, catering for A, B and O grade shooters. An entry fee of 25/- was fixed, and riflemen are asked to bring their own ammunition, though there will be a supply ou the range. Club teams will have the Greer Shield for which to compete, and if suiiicient support is forthcoming an interassociation match, 10 men a-side, will be fired. Shooting will start at the 500 yards range at 8 a.m. Club secretaries requiring programmes are asked,to write to the secretary l , Mr. R. A. Jones, Ashhurst. Coaching will not be allowed and the teams’, matches will be held in conjunction with the individual matches. The Ashhurst range provides a good test for rifipDicn. Ten, milk und sugnr will be provided, but competitors must supply their own food. The election of officers resulted :— Patron. Mr. W. R. Kells; president, Mr. W. G. Romley ; deputy-presidents, Messrs. 11. Anderson, 11. Ramsay, J. Rowbotham and M. Hausmann: secretary, Mr. K. A. Jones; assistant secretary. Mr. L. Motton; auditor, Mr. O. IV. Turner; range officers, Messrs. A. R. Tantrum (chiet I. J Hargreaves and M. Hausmann; district delegates, Messrs. R. A. Jones and MHausmann; association selector, Mr. K. A. Jones. ■
