Belgian Anti-Tank Defences An official communique issued in Brussels last month by ifihe Ministry of National Defence declares that stiujee September 1 a considerable effort has been made to make the country secure against possible attack by entrenched divisions. A formidable barrier of Steed is ipart of the country’s defence against possible attacks by banks. The fortification System is practically unsu mountable. The defence wali is constructed' with 36.000 tons of steed, of which 34,000 tons, are of steel (Structure and 1000 bonis of steel cables. “All difficulties have been overcome,” the communique adds, “and neither rain, snow, nor cold has stopped the wonk. Soldiers recalled to the Colours will continue to build up this formidable barrier across -the fields and woods.”
